This Week on the Homestead

I'm currently harvesting Basil, Parsley, Cilantro, Cucumbers, Beets, Swiss Chard and Kale.  I'm picking cucumbers daily, and they're almost producing enough to bring to the market.

I took rabbits to a USDA processor this week, and frozen rabbit is now available directly from me, or at All Things Food in Bryan, OH.  If you order and pay in advance, I can bring your rabbit order to the farmers market for you to pick up.   Due to licensing requirements, rabbit is not for sale at the market.  Rabbit is $8/pound purchased directly from me, and $10/pound at All Things Food.

Beets have been selling out early at the market, but I usually have an adequate supply of Swiss Chard and Basil.

I'm starting seeds for late season beets and carrots this week.  The tomato plants are loaded with green tomatoes, and the peppers are looking good, too.  The winter squash and melon plants are taking off, and the cabbage is looking really nice.  

The chickens have a chicken yard, and yesterday was their first day free ranging the homestead.

Today I ordered lip balm tubes and atomizers.  Look for more sprays and lip balm at the market soon!
